  1. Thanks for the answers. I used the - (minus) sign to close various folders. That worked. Firts I had to make sure that I could get to the top of the folder tree. I did that by clicking in the area of the folder tree then hiting the "home" key. That got me to the top of the tree and from there on I could use the mouse and the minus key to close all the open folders. Thanks for your help Andy
  2. I recently had a minor disaster when I lost my calendar, notes and contacts in Outlook. Now I am trying to write a macro that will back these folders up to another folder, eventually automatically. It works but only if the folders stay in the same position as when I made the macro. If I have expanded or closed folders in between time, the macro chooses the wrong folder to back up or the wrong folder to back up to! This is both using mouse movements and the drop down menu from File, Folder, Copy Calendar to selected folder. To cut a long story short, is there any way that I can reset the folders in Outlook to, say, all non expanded before as the first part of the macro so that my mouse clicks will always select the correct folder(s). Thanks for any help for this Newbie Andy
