Trying to close file, ME closes the whole program

I have 2 excel files open. I want to close one of them using "close window" ME is trying to close excel completly. I searched and found "text type: <CONTROL><F4>" as a possible solution but have not had sucess with that. Thanks for any help

I am new to Macro Express, thank you in advance for your help. I have searched, but not found the answer. I would like to know if there is a direct command to open a file. I can open the folder where the file is, and use the mouse move and double click command to get it open. But I am hoping there is a more direct way to do this.
