  1. I have been trying to get ScreenOCR to work with MEP I just want to capture numbers and then past them into Excel, but seem to be having problems getting MEP to do it. Using ScreenOCR manually, it picks up and recognises fairly low definition graphics very accurately. http://screenocr.com/
  2. I have been using MEP now intensely for some time now with no problems But it has just locked I was updating the program "Direct Access", this uses a lot of hot keys and abbreviations. At the time MEP was not in use but just as "Direct Access" was reloading all its commands, hot keys etc my computer almost froze. I managed to use "Process Hacker" to kill Macro Express Pro and wizzo my computer immediately came back to normal speed again. Quite a few people seem to be linking hot keys and clipboard usage to the problem. Could it be ?? "Direct Access" does not seem to have a problem, killing MEP always cures the speed problem.
  3. I have been using Macro Express Pro for almost two days all day long The strange thing is it hasn't slowed or locked the compuer at all Most days I only use it for short periods and most days if I keep it loaded it slows and locks things up. It seem it is stable if using it all the while but gives problems when resting. I just wish something could be done to make it stable all the time
  4. People have mentioned Directory Opus, I use Directory Opus, which uses hotkeys as well as numerous other programs that do and it was because of all the Hotkeys conflicting that I used Macro Express Pro cutting out as many Hotkeys from other programs as I could, but with the dramatic slowdowns MEP causes I am now using Autohotkey and Direct Access only opening MEP and closing it as soon as finished, Could the problem be Hotkeys? As you suggest It is stupid that I am not using MEP as I should because of a bug in it, I just wish I could start using it again properly as it would save me so much time.
  5. I use ESET smart security, I have had Auto restore ticked and un-ticked I do have Directory Opus And I am still experiencing freezes Yesterday I had started Macro Express Pro but had not used any macros after some time my computer locked up, I killed Macro Express Pro with Process Hacker which solved the problem. Other programs may slow things down on occasions but are not unmanageable, with Process Hacker or Process Explorer I can always identify which one but I have not had to kill them. When my computer locks (which only happens when running MEP) Macro Express Pro shows no problems in either Process Hacker or Process Explorer but kill it and my computer always recovers.
  6. I have been getting the dreaded slowing and use a lot of shortkeys, it got so annoying I now use Direct Access which I have found very fast for most shortkeys. I also use AutoHotkey where I need more control over a macro, which I call from Direct Access through a hot key. Why I mention this is that if Macro Express Pro was stable I could do everything I want just with Macro Express Pro. This slowing down and near locking of the computer (even when no macros are running) and the losing of hooks needs to be sorted fast. I have tried all combinations of running programs with still the problems. Macro Express Pro has the makings of one of the best macro programs around, so please Insight Software please sort it.
  7. Interestingly if you sort the MEP forum by views. MEP slowing machine down dramatically has 933 More than any other topic. I wonder why ????
  8. My computer almost locked up again (17 September 2009) Killed Macro Express Pro and everything worked fine again Again no CPU activity at all showing for MEP before being Killed Just waiting for it to correct does not seem to work This is getting anoying as I really want to use macros
  9. I am also getting a dramatic slowing down of my computer (same as above) It seems to happen even when no macros are in use. Although it has happened when I have been using macros as well. This make the computer almost unresponsively slow. I can stop any other program but it only ever corrects when I exit or kill MEP. With Process Explorer it shows there is no problem with CPU usage in-fact in the problem state MEP does not show any CPU use. As soon as MEP is terminated the computer returns to normal and I can then restart MEP and use it until it happens next time. Has any progress been made on this problem?
  10. ******** Since Posting as below I have played with the macro and worked it out ********** Again Cory THANKS it works great Eno ****************************************************************************** Cory, I was looking for something like this, So Thanks. What I would like and don't know how to do it is have the choice of setting the number that it outputs with as many or as few zeros as I need ie: 001 or 00000000001 Like GRichard I also need it as simple as possible, or as you kindly did before and posted a link for a download of your macro. Thanks Eno
