  1. Hi there, I'm running macro express 3.9a build 1 (3.9.1.1) on a Windows XP machine. I noticed today, while trying to build a new macro, that none of my mouse activity is being recorded. I double checked and my capture settings show that the box next to "Capture mouse relative to" is checked and the option below, labeled "Screen", is checked. I can't figure out why this started happening....I haven't recorded a new macro in quite some time and playback has been just fine. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, Ed
  2. Hi all, This is likely a long shot, but maybe someone has run into something similar... I use ME to test internet surveys. This involves launching firefox, pointing to a URL, and logging in. Once I'm logged in, a new firefox window pops with the questionnaire inside it. This is where I'm having problems.....One of the recent firefox updates must have changed where the text is placed in that popup window....my mouse clicks are now about 1/2 inch too low. It's almost as if the location bar in the popup shrunk or something...Since I've got about 150 macros that do this, I was hoping there was something I could do in firefox settings to fix this....anyone else run into anything along these lines? thanks in advance. Ed
  3. Thanks Alan, that worked like a charm. I appreciate the help! Ed
  4. Hi everyone. I'm using Macro Express 3.8a build 1 (3.8.1.1). I use ME to build macros that run web-based surveys. Many of the survey questions have answers in a drop down box. When I want to select multiples of these answers, I need to press the <CTRL> key and then left click whichever answers I want. When I'm done, multiple answers are selected and I can move onto the next question. However when I do this while capturing a macro, the <CTRL> key doesn't register and during macro playback I end up with just the last answer I left-clicked on selected. Is there a way to get the <CTRL> key into the macro that doesn't involve trying to figure out where in the script I need to insert a "<CTRL> key down/up" manually? Thanks in advance for your help. Ed
  5. Just figured it out. After highlighting the existing command, you need to select what type of new command you want to add (i.e., text, logic, etc.). Then you can choose whether to insert the new command before or after the existing command. thanks, Ed
  6. Hi all, I'm running Macro Express version 3.7d build 1 (3.7.4.1). In the past I've had no problem inserting new commands before/after other commands in the scripting editor. Today, these options are greyed out and I can't insert new commands into my existing scripts. I can modify individual existing commands, but ME won't let me add anything new. Any ideas what may be going wrong? thanks in advance, Ed
  7. Hi there...thanks for your suggestions....they helped me figure out where to insert the control down/up commands. It took me about 30 mins to get it right though...too bad there's not an easier/quicker way to do this....any idea why the control keys are not captured like the other keys? thanks again for your help, Ed
  8. Hi All, We're testing out the 30 day eval copy of Macro Express and so far we really love it. We have several web based surveys that we have to test regularly, and ME seems like it could really help us out with automating that. Here's my problem: One of the web surveys we test has a question where we need to select multiple answers by holding down the control key and using the mouse to click on all the answers we want to select. When I'm done capturing the macro and replay it, it doesn't replicate the holding down of the control key. Looking at ME help I see that I can insert control key down/up commands in the script, but the script is so long that I have no way of finding where in the script I would need to insert these commands. Is there some setting/preference I could set that would allow capture of the control key by default? thanks, Ed
