  1. I have a scenario where I need to use % as part of the variable value. For example %T[1]% = "CASH%001". When using the value like this, the variable T[1] is not taking the value correctly and macro is stopped at the line where the string is modified. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  2. I have a had issues with not being able to clear variables and the macro will repeat a process again because those variable are still somehow there, even after a restart of MEPro. I do not have any Save Variables commands in the macro, but I have several clear variables though out the macros. This is several macros linked together as it's growing in to a large set of macros that will handle different requests received via email. When the macro has finished and ends with a clear all variables I F5 to see the variable there is nothing. I have a simple macro that is schedule to start after 3 mins of idle to check for new emails. Even if there is no new email it some how has the variables from he last time it ran and repeats the previous request again.
  3. Hi, I'm not sure how to do this. I have two sets of data. In Database 1: I have a person's name (i.e. David Smith) which I assign T72 and a separate Database 2---the same person but with his professional title added (i.e. David Smith RN). I will assign this name+title as T73 . Is there a way to "compare" the two variables [T72 and T73] and then "strip" T72 information out of T73 leaving only the individual's title which I can assign to another variable to manipulate it further.
  4. Hi I am trying to pass text into a variable in MacroExpress and seem to be doing something wrong. I am running: C:\Program Files\Macro Express Pro\MacExp.exe /A1Test /VT2:Now is the time My macro 1Test is simply: <VARIABLE RESTORE Option="\x00"/> <MESSAGEBOX Caption="Variable" Message="%T2%" Icon="0"/> which I had expected to display a box containing the text "Now is the time". Sadly the box appears but is empty. I suspect I am making a schoolboy error. Any ideas? Thnx
  5. Hi all, I am trying to create a macro to help out with work. I have very basic programming knowledge from a few high school classes and I have seen this topic sort of addressed a few times (Cory always brought up Regex), but I want to see if I am not going about this the right way. I have a bunch of text on a web page that gets highlighted with crtl+a and then saved to a variable. I can then read variable and use "if variable contains xyz, variable2 = A. From there I can I just keep searching for key phrases from the text and setting them into new variables. This works fine for things that are "multiple choice" so to speak, but will not work for things like people's names, since it will be completely random what the name is. To get around this, I tried the approach of having the mouse click in selected spots where the words I am looking for will be and copying to clipboard, then setting variable from clipboard. This doesn't work all the time because little discrepancies in the changing web page make it so that I am always off by a few (or sometimes many) pixels. Any ideas here? I was thinking about revisiting my first approach when I just search for phrases in the variable... something like "if variable contains "FIRST NAME: *********" where the ***s are the person's actual name. I would only want to store this info into a new variable though, and not all the extraneous text in the variable. Can this be done? TIA, Mike
  6. Hi, I'm trying to write a script which involves the following large decimal numbers: .000001 and .00001 When using the decimal variable it only goes up to .0001 and when storing anything larger than that I get a hex value equivalent. This poses a problem as when you paste it back into a field. It comes out with 1^EF or something like that. Currently I have no choice but to set it as a string and then loading up the Calculator app and paste it in there to do the calculations. Its kind of crude, but works for now until MEP supports float variables or the equivalent. Whats another work around does everyone else have? thanks
  7. Hi there, first time poster in this forum. I have written a macro to allow uploading from a csv file which is working fine. However there are instances where we have the same order numbers so I want a different set of instructions to run. What I need to happen is: Compare order number for each line to be uploaded. If the next instance is the same as the one before, then do some instructions if it is not the same do another set. How is this possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edd
