Rossini
After I'm done recording a new macro, I try to edit it. However I get the error "Cannot edit the macro because the file locked by another user". The only way I can unlock the file is by Terminating Macro Express, and starting it again. How do I unlock the macro file with out restarting the program. thanks, John.
jason
Click on Options | Settings and then select Network from the options listed on the left hand side of the window. Uncheck the File Locking of Macro Files. This should fix the problem.
Rossini
I tried to unchecked Options->Preferences->Network->File Locking of Macro Files. It appears to work, I hit OK, I then go back into the Options->Preferences->Network and the File Locking of Macro Files check box is still checked. jason
Is your macro file on a network drive? If so, then it will remain checked as this feature is needed for shared macro files. If you are getting this error on a network drive, it is because you do not have full read-write permissions for that location which, unfortunately means that you will need to restart Macro Express to edit a newly captured macro.
