Installed 3.4b on New Computer, Keyboard will not run macros

I have been using 3.4b forever on an XP system. My system is in trouble so installed my ME on a new XP system. Prefrences are set the same as old system, but keyboard will not run any of my macros. Macros can be run using the "run macro now in the macro explorer window. It must be something dumb on my part but I seem to be brain dead! Any help would be appreciated!

First and foremost that's a very old version. Even if there is a reason you are running the old version I would try the current version. Although I think it should still work.

One problem might be IE7. What version of IE are you using? For a while there was a problem with IE7's protected mode being enabled and it was fixed in later versions. It affected ME activation even when it was not the target application.

If that fails all I would do would be to make it as simple as possible. Create a new macro file with the simplest macro imaginable to type text. Then open Notepad and try it. If that doesn’t work then it’s probably an issue for tech support. But I’m willing to bet the first thing they will tell you to do is upgrade to the current version.

How do you activate your macros? If you are using shortkey activations, then you should reconfigure the shortkeys preferences found in Options, Preferences, ShortKeys.

I have figured it out. The only software my new maching was running that was different was "Network Magic". I next installed that software on my old maching and I killed ME. Guess I will have to try the new version.

Thank You very much for your responce !

Your comment about IE got me thinking. The only software the new system is running that the old one was not is "Network Magic". I next installed Network Magic on my old system and it killed ME. Guess I will have to try the new version of ME to see if that solves the problem.

Thany You for Resopnding--- I was lost and not thinking of conflicts...
