Switching Keyboard Layouts

Hi there.

Is there a way to use ME to switch keyboard layouts? I don't want to use Microsoft's supplied method, CTRL+SHIFT or left ALT+SHIFT, since I use software hotkeys a LOT.

I use the Dvorak layout, but often the system guys need to use my computer, so a macro that would switch between layouts would come in really handy.

Thanks a bunch.

I do not use any other keyboard but the one supplied. Do you have two different keyboards that must be physically switched? Or is it a single keyboard that uses two different DLLs that can be switched on-the-fly without the need to reboot?

Joe:

It's a single keyboard that I can "hot swap" the drivers.

Wow! Switching keyboards through the registry is something I never would have considered. But that may be because, since I usually don't know what I'm doing, I try not to mess with the registry.

What's a good registry editor (freeware, preferably)? I guess RegEdit would work...
