canadian_coder
Hi Folks; I'm trying to decide whether or not this tool is right for me. I downloaded the demo of it and it seems quite interesting, however there is a lot to wade through. So instead of spending a few hours looking through this I wanted to know a couple things I hope the community can help me with. I'm trying to do some automation, but that requires that I be able to pass variables. For example; selecting an item from a tree or a list. If I'm using the same tree (or list) and I'm selecting different values each time, I don't want to have to write more than a couple scripts to accomplish this. So is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance!
joe
Welcome to the group! Macro Express does have its own string, integer, and decimal variables. But I suggest that you take some time to go through the tutorials and then make an attempt at a small task that would have some meaning to you. t.s.lim
Hi joe, Your AVATAR is great! Where do you get that, do you have a JPG, can you give me a copy? I won't use it as avatar anyway, may be as a wallpaper
canadian_coder
We've managed to figure out how to pass variables from the command line but that still leaves out the ability to select from a tree/list (i.e. SysTreeView32/SysListView32). Does anyone have any thoughts on that?
joe
Where do you get that, do you have a JPGt.s. - Not really sure. It was sent to me by a friend who said they saw it during a Google image search. I'm sure it is still out there in its true size, but I only have the small gif that you see. SysTreeView32/SysListView32canadian - Well, I think it may depend on the application that the Window Control is used in. Some Controls are accessible and some are not. Is there a particular application you are testing?

canadian_coder
In this case it's a product for the company I'm working for but I know that SysListView32/SysTreeView32 are indeed accessible as we have other means to access it, but they are neither efficient nor reliable. Hence why we are looking at Macro Express.
