Sebastian42
I've included a snap with the menu icon circled in red. Once I reach that Chrome Bookmarks page, I need to access that menu; previously I thought that TAB would do it, but that does not work for me now (maybe it never did). Does anyone know ? acantor
Tab works if focus begins in the Search field. Otherwise, you'll need to "landmark" on a fixed object before tabbling. Perhaps this? Ctrl + F (Search text box) Tab or Alt + D (Address bar) Tab Tab
Sebastian42
Neither of those codes worked The first one did cause the insert marker to appear in the Search box. Manually, it works if ENTER is done after Tab, but not in the macro.
acantor
My only suggestion is to insert a short delay between each step, say 300 ms. If that doesn't help, not sure what else to suggest... except to substitute a Mouse Move (relative to the window, not the screen) and a Left Mouse Click. Sebastian42
I had already tested those steps with 1 second delay - to no avail. I have managed to get the (correct) Menu selected by means of a mouse movement, but can not get ENTER to have effect there. A different issue, just in case there is a solution : every fourth (?) attempt at this, launches Chrome with a 'popup' page focused, that therefore invalidates the sequence of steps. Press the spacebar instead of the Enter key to activate the control. Does that help?
Sebastian42
Does not. The selection of Menu by moving the mouse is not reliable An x-in-a-circle may appear in the end of the search bar
Sebastian42
I have the macro working perfectly and reliably now. One difficulty was the placement of the mouse; I had used 'Point Position' to determine the location of the Menu - where the mouse had to be located, but that turned out to be too approximate - I had to do trial and error to get those co-ordinates right. I also used a mouse click rather than ENTER (that may or may not be significant) The number of downarrows in the Menu required to get to EXPORT is less in the successful macro than manually - intriguing. So some 'art' is required as well as 'scientific' rigour !
