  1. Thanks guys, I remember that Windows had a free VM but not sure if it comes with W 7 or Server 2008. So I'm clear, (in theory) I could install a VM on my remote, install ME on the VM, turn it on, then no matter what I do with RDC, ME will continue to do its thing? Thanks!
  2. I've installed ME on a windows 2008 VPS. I got it working properly, then disconnected my RDC (remote desktop connection). Later in the day I checked in on the progress and could see that the macro had "paused" while the RDC was disconnected. I don't remember seeing any configuration settings in the RDC program to continue programs... So I'm wondering, if I disconnect, does ME think that the "screen" has disappeared? (I use mouse positions in the macro). Thanks
  3. I've written a macro which needs a few bugs sorted out: The macro is supposed to copy the value of a specific cell (From an active, maximized Excel Worksheet), then paste that value into program B. Then after program B does its thing, the macro repeats, but now drops down one cell. (there are over 1,500 rows). At the moment I'm using mouse positions relative to the open (active) window, but ME is having difficulty finding the cell. Is there a method to tell ME to go to a specific cell in Excel? Once the first cell is chosen, I think the prob is solved because the next time ME just hits the down arrow once, and we're at the next row. Thanks!
  4. I've written a macro which currently is activated on a schedule. For illustrative purpose, lets say the schedule starts the macro at 5 AM when I am asleep. The challenge, is that on some nights I will want this macro to run and "do its thing," while other nights I do NOT want it to run. My decisioin to run the macro is based on external market events which I assess daily. So to create a fancy schedule will not solve the problem. Currently the only way I know to turn the macro on or off is to open up the editor and enable or disable the macro. If I make a mistake and forget to enable or disable it, the consequences could be quite costly. I'd like some sort of icon/switch on my desktop which essentially lets me "turn on" or "turn off" the macro AND clearly displays the state (on, or off). PS I am not asking for a desktop control to "run macro now." The operative terms are "enable/disable" Any ideas? Thanks.
  5. I want to activate a macro by clicking on a desktop icon (which happens to be an IE shortut). (as opposed to using a shorcut key, hotkey etc.) How would I do this? Never mind... I figured it out. First, under properties, I changed the icon to a letter I would recognize (F), then I went to the menu, selected "Macros" and then "Place on Desktop" Now all I need to do is click the desktop icon, just as if I were launching any other program. Thanks
  6. I use a financial site which requires a login and password. How do I build a macro to (1) launch internet explorer (2) open a specific IP address (domain name), (3) wait for the page to load, (4) enter username, (5) enter password, then (6) "submit" ? Thanks!
