Export Playable Macro fails

Recommended Posts

I tried to use Export Playable Macro on the macro ColourHexToMX to complement the export I attached as an MEX in the thread

http://pgmacros.invisionzone.com/topic/5212-converting-between-colour-codes/

But nothing happened. All the other macros I tried were OK, briging up the export dialog. I don't see anything in Help that would explain it. Am I missing sometging obvious?

I finally found that it was because the original macro name included a colon. Further tests found three other characters that blocked the operation: / | "

Yet other characters that Windows XP does not allow in filenames, such as \ > < ? * cause no problem.

Note that it isn't simply a case of MX preventing the use of invalid filenames. I had no intention of using the macro name Colour: Hex to MX as an MXE file name, just as I wouldn't use it as an MEX filename.

Plainly a bug, which I've reported. An easy temporary 'fix' would be to simply specify these problem characters in the Help topic.
