  1. When CDs were not yet available, I used a Lotus Symphony macro called "Label", printing all filenames of a floppy disk on a floppy disc label. Any idea how this could be done with Macro Express ?
  2. Under Dialogs I found a Multiple Choice Menue creating a List of different choices. I do not use this, as I find it is too much work to do 2 clicks instead of just one: 1. Select choice by marking 2. Push OK Instead I often just open a list of choices as e.g. the Windows Explorer and add a "wait for right mouse click command" to continue. Don't you think such a solution would be simpler ?
  3. 2. Wait for Window Title of a running but inactive (unfocused) Window to appear (like the Reminder Alarm window in Outlook's Calendar) 1. Dialogue : Multiple Choice Window starting a choice by klicking on it instead of "marking plus OK".
  4. I am using a ME macro to get important info from an Ebay auction and paiste it into my Lotus Organizer calendar plus setting the alarm 5 minutes before the auction ends. The user is being asked to mark the interesting fields that have to be copied and click OK in a relative textbox. I would prefer to get the info automatically as some programs with screenscraping do. Any idea to achieve this ? (The colors don't change in the interesting fields, so get pixel color doesn't work)
  5. Merci Nicolas, - Sonntag, den 14. Nov. 2004 19:59 I changed IE accordingly, but inspite of carefully searching, I was unable to find such a solution in Mozilla.
  6. If I open a website with my default browser (Mozilla) and want to open a second website in a new window, unfortunately I see only one way: I have to use a different browser program, because Mozilla will just use the same window of the first website for the second website also instead of opening 2 different windows. I haven't found a way to force my default browser to open different windows and the ME hasn't got such an option "force new window" in the "HTTP2:2:T:http://..."-command either. Finally in my attached ME macro Ctrl+Alt+Tab described in GERMAN with pictures on my website under iRaTe2 TonAufnahme for RECORDING Internet Jazz streams, the captured mouse movement doesn't look bad, but is a bit too long. 7. It's as easy as I wrote: Search & Enter an E-Mail address at the actual position of my cursor (for example a greeting card requires the E-Mail address of the recipient and I don't remember it while I am on the website with greeting cards). My macro loads Outlook Express, allows for searching a person and copies the E-Mail address wherever my cursor is at the moment, if I accept the found name with a RM=right mouseclick. Standard command: Whatever is in my clipboard when I start the macro will be stored to T99 and restored to the clipboard at the end of the macro.
  8. I am not pleased at all with this solution, as initially I tried to write a ME macro with which I could enter an E-Mail address at the cursor position when starting the macro. First I tried to open a textbox telling the user he has to mark a searched & found address and continue with a RM(right mouseclick). If the address cannot be seen, when the OE addresswindow opens, you have to enter a few of the first 3-4 characters of the searched name before you can see & mark the searched name. But, with the textbox the cursor to enter letters to find the searched name will not remain in the input field, even if I unmark "Keep focus" - no chance. (I am expecting focus + cursor to remain where they where before the textbox appears if I mark "keep focus", unfortunately the focus remains in the window open before textbox appears if I unmark "keep focus". But the cursor is gone after the textbox appears). So I deleted the textbox and added a wait command till RM(right mouse) is clicked: Every improvement is appreciated Alt_F10__OE_Enter_E_Mailadresse_finden_einf_gen___RM.mxe
  9. Hi Joe, - Samstag, den 02. Okt. 2004 09:09 what are you using: direct or scripting editor ? Are there general tips & tricks or general rules for macro writing ? I am using direct editor exclusively like this for my actual date macro Alt+1:
  10. The German Federal Board for Internet Security BSI urges users to switch from IE to Firefox. Used to IE, Mozillas Firefox seems rather slow and causes a lot of problems for my browser ME macros: Let's just take a small example: To improve the readability of my postings, I often use the formula Text which I used to paste thru Celtics Thundertools Quickpaste and manually entered URL & Text=description/name like this [ url=http://www.mediocom1.de/macex.html] ME = MacroExpress[/url] which - if you leave out the space before "url" will appear as ME = MacroExpress To save time, after marking the Hyperlink on the source website, my ME macro Ctrl+Y Name and Link will automatically be transferred into a (standard) forum to the cursor position if I push RESUME in a ME textbox. Wheras Internet Explorer copies a link (after a rightmouseclick) on position 7, Firefox has this command on position 6. I haven't found a more elegant way to solve this than asking "if window not 'Firefox', than Arrowdown". Anyone here fighting with such differences of IE & Firefox in this forum ? 11. http://www.swissjazz.ch/cgi-bin/playlist_jazz/playlist.cgi shows a list of all jazztitels, Swissjazz will play today ,which you could listen to or even record. If you don`t want to miss one of the songs, you could mark time, title and artist and my ME macro CtrlShift+A will enter this in th calendar of Lotus Organizer with an alarm starting 2 minutes before the song will start. The Stream will allow you to listen to the song if Real Player is on your computer. There are several programs capable to record songs. I use a german one called iRaTe2. But first of all, I mark the songtitle to find out if this title is already included in my song directory to avoid recording it a second time. If I press WinAlt+Y, my attached MacroExpress macro will do this: In this moment, the tile with the dark green background is being played , the name of the song coming next is "Mic's Jump". I just mark the underligned title "Mic's Jump" and push WinAlt+Y (Find File in open File-Explorer). The marked titel is copied to the clibpoard and the Windows file explorer with all my files, which I had opened before is being activated and the clipboard content (=songtitle) is entered by typing keys. Immediately the searched songtitle is found and marked blue. Naturally aou could also enter the song title by hand to see if it is already in your open directory.. But you have to make sure your directory is sorted alphabetically by clicking twice on the header "Name". WinAlt_Y_Find_File_in_open_File_Explorer.mxe
  12. 1. Invert If accidently I hit the key Capslock it would be very helpful if the text written false could be automatically corrected instead of typing again from scratch. The best solution would be if each character would be inverted, so that a capital letter would become small and a small letter capitalized. 2. Capital letters If all letters are capitalized your macro doesn't work (yet) :-) But if I add <TMVAR2:13:01:00:000:000:><REM2:Change all letters to lowercase>.....
  13. Added Macros in Macex_EN.zip Ctrl+N copies a marked appointment in Lotus Organizer WinAlt+P a marked Planner entry automatically to Lotus Notes MACEX_EN.zip
  14. Thanks, Joe for this good parameter, which I had to modify just a little bit, as my fax and letter templates path have been changed in Word|Options to D:\Templates (to allow a format c:\ and new install of XP without loosing my templates). <LAUNCHNO3:0:0112Microsoft Word<LAUNCH:C:\Programs\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE<PARAM>"/td:\Templates\1Fax.dot"><REM2:Faxemlate 1Fax.dot (with company-logo)><WAITWIN2:000010:000000:Dokument><MSD:60><LCLK>
  15. Here are my over 150 Macros in German , which I promise to translate if I receive an English Windows XP Version. MACEX.zip
  16. Without an English version of Windows XP it is difficult to translate my MacroExpress macros from German into English: PS just in case somebody would like to send me an English copy of Windows XP for translation purposes (only), I promise to translate all of my 150 German Windows macros immediately: My Address: Bernhard Frisch Kurfürstenstr. 27 D-55232 Alzey, Germany MACEX_EN.zip
