  1. Floyd you may be right... however, I mistyped ... my macro is on the S:\drive too and I didnt' have any problem with it. But Today it was THERE! Yea. And I really think that was what was happening. And again it might have to do w/the WIN NT machines causing so much trouble. At least I feel we have an answer - Renee
  2. I dont' even know where to begin!!! The wonderful state of texas has taken 11 state agencies and consolidated them into 4... and they have changed all our servers, computers are crashing daily (some switch they keep trying to do) so I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem but here it is. yesterday my co-worker started his computer, it automatically started ME and all that was there in the formerly named file Discharge Packet.MEX were the system macros. There was no trace that a macro consisting of some 40 or so macros had existed. Then it happened again this morning. (Fortunalty I have backup copies on MY computer and was able to import them in) Also, that file had not been set to back up so I fixed that yesterday so today I just renamed the back up back to .mex and it looks like it's all there. The file is saved on our "s" drive... its a public drive. The computer in question is running Win NT (and when the computers have been going down, unable to connect to the network, only the Win NTs are affected... I'm running Win 2000 and have not had the problem connecting to the network.) However, when the computers went down last week we didnt' have this problem with the Macro disappearing. But they did go down for a short time yesterday, however everyone was still able to use the macro yesterday afternoon after the computers were bakc up. Anyway, I'm about to tear my hair out... any clues to why this may be happening???
  3. Ok, let's see if I can re-create this... I go into a macro that is on our Shared drive and used by many people. I make changes to it. I usually have them terminate ME and then open up the .mex file again. Lately they've been getting the "macro can't be found (i'm doing this from memory) would you like to create a new one, find one like it, cancel" .... it's that dialogue box with 3 options. I've got one user who called just now and he still can't get it to quit giving that message. What can I do to stop this from happening because when I'm not here, well I wont' say the WHOLE hospital comes to a stand still .... LOL... just kidding. Renee
  4. I, too, couldn't access it AT ALL at work, so I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! ~ your favorite problem child, Renee
  5. THANKS Nicolas... yea i FINALLY saw it... do that copy/paste command all the time because most of my macros are the same thing with only the printing option changing! I just couldn't see it, finally I doubled click on it and when it opened the "Text" box, well I almost fell over having wasted over an hour going thru the macro step-by-step, but obviously with my eyes closed! Oh well another lesson learned.
  6. I just copied this: Macro Run: To Print ALL-Choose Your Episode and got this when I pasted it: <TEXTTYPE:Macro Run: To Print ALL-Choose Your Episode> I used the copy text command and then clicked on paste. Any clues why it would do this? I do this all the time when I'm changing my type of print options and never had a problem. Ewwww... all I can say it was really messing with my head for this Friday afternoon! Renee Never mind... don't USE THE COPY TEXT COMMAND...
  7. Well that didn't work.. but what I was TRYING to do the first time suddenly did... go figure... here it is: // Opens Order Entry and Prints Validation Report Text Type: <ALT><ALT>O Delay 1 Seconds Text Type: <ENTER> Delay 1 Seconds Text Type: <ARROW DOWN><ENTER> Delay 1 Seconds Activate Window: "OrderEntry_Orders_Requiring_Validation.rpt" Delay 0.5 Seconds Mouse Move Screen 344, 196 Wait for Mouse Cursor: Arrow Mouse Move Screen 48, 35 Mouse Left Button Click Delay 0.5 Seconds Text Type: <ENTER> Window Close: "OrderEntry_Orders_Requiring_Validation.rpt" thanks- Renee
  8. Ok, what have I done wrong... after it gets to the point where the mouse is a steady left pointed arrow it just sits there... thanks - Renee Text Type: <ALT><ALT>O Delay 1 Seconds Text Type: <ENTER> Delay 1 Seconds Text Type: <ARROW DOWN><ENTER> Activate Window: "OrderEntry_Orders_Requiring_Validation.rpt" Delay 0.5 Seconds Mouse Move Screen 344, 196 Delay 1 Seconds If Mouse Cursor is Arrow Variable Set Decimal %D1% to 0 Repeat Until %D1% > 1.0 Variable Modify Decimal: %D1% = %D1% + 0.1 Wait Time Elapse: 0 Minutes 1 Seconds End If Repeat End Mouse Move Screen 48, 35 Mouse Left Button Click Delay 0.5 Seconds Text Type: <ENTER> Window Close: "OrderEntry_Orders_Requiring_Validation.rpt"
  9. I'll do that Joe, and I have been doing it the other way too. Thanks - R
  10. Joe, yes, I was printing the file/print macro list. As I was saying it started printing just fine and then went nuts and started printing that one line over and over and over again on the same page. So I have 30 something pages with about 80 lines of the same macro printed on each page. Make sense?- Renee P.S. I just tried this again, this time from a different list of macros and it generated 10,000 pages in the print window (when I double clicked on the printer to stop it from printing) and this time the one macro that was printing over and over was the same one. Do you think that macro is corrupt? I only have 112 macros in that list I just tried to print.
  11. I have my .mex file called Renee.... it has all my personal macros, test macros, junk macros, etc., however about 40 of them I have created for other users. I exported those to another .mex file called Discharge Packet... when I make changes to either of the files, I have to remember to then update the other one I didn't make the changes too... is there an easier way to do this rather than just trying to remember, or write down which ones I changed? It would be awesome when you import macros if it showed the date and time, that way I could easily pick the ones I just made adjustments too. Renee
  12. I wanted to print the list of 40 macros I had in a one .mex file to compare with another one I have. I used the print option: Print Macro List... it began to print 40? or so pages, but I noticed that pages 2-37 (when I stopped it) all had the same thing: Entire Reports-Prints Pre-admit Alf + Shift + F3 Scope Global Except In my list that is line 17 and it printed the correct 16 before that on page 1, and then just repeated the above... have I corrupted my file? Thanks - Renee
  13. I just realized when I tried to go back and try Floyd's suggestion that the fly out menus don't use the Alt + whatever key. So I'm back to square 1... I have to figure out by trial and error what the access key they made for each of the fly out menus!
  14. I'm confessing my sins... if the admin guys find out I tried and downloaded the new version... well we don't want to go there. Where is version 3.4? I don't have it... can I get it??? Long story made short: I asked the head admin guy if I could upgrade ME on everyone's computers, he said yes, and even though it said I need admin rights it worked just fine, (it was version 3.4b I think... not at work to look at it) anyway, I was installing a macro I had written on a computer I've not used before and it didn't work, so thinking it was because of the older version of ME, I went to download newest version and I didn't think there would be a problem because I've upgraded about 8 other machines, but alas there was with that .dll file (AND one of the other admin guys, said NO you have to get permission to download anything, I dont' care if my BOSS did tell you could download the new version). OH what tangle web we weave... so I'm thinking if I HAD an older version I could re-install that! yes.. no???? and the mexhook.dll file wouldn't matter? - Renee
  15. I was bad and downloaded the new version now it won't work at all. Help! I can't log on as administrator and so that's what I get for trying to download the new version. It's worked before when I did it! - Renee
  16. Renee, I am assuming that when you refer to the "hidden access key" you are talking about the underlined letter on a menu (accelerator key). yes... I never knew it was called the accelator key... I've been calling it the hidden access key all these many years. I have seen instances where menu choices use both upper and lower case letters as accelerator keys. This is simply a bad design decision ... in my opinion. [snipped] thanks for the explanation. It makes sense. Also, when looking at the menus can you see what the accelerator keys are? If not, try hitting the Alt key by itself. This usually turns on the accelerator feature in a menu. you can with the main menu, but not the fly outs so I have no idea what they did but i'll try the alt, alt just like the program recommends. - Renee
  17. Jim, I've come to the conclusion that it is indeed the people who added that menu item. Sometimes I can use the "hidden access key" (what I've always called it when you can hit the first letter and make it go to that file, etc.) and sometimes I have to write the macro using the arrows down to get to the menu item. It's so inconsisentent and I've gone thru each one individually and am almost thru! Thanks heavens it started messing up line 177 of the 260 lines rather than the very first one ! It is interesting that when doing it manually, the small letter d doesn't select the Medical History, but I've tested the macro about 500x's now (ok I exaggerate) and it works great. Thank you so much for responding. I just need to know that someone is listening. Everyone here at work have been listening to me rant all day and they have no clue what I'm talking about ... see even you had a hard time and YOU know this program LOL. Ok, everyone just keep their fingers cross it won't mess up! - Renee
  18. I know I've already asked for help with this but I just have to ask one more time so please forgive me for creating a new topic. Ok, I re-wrote the offending macro, all by it's self ... here it is: Macro Run: Access MH OLD INQUIRIES Text Type: M Macro Run: To print from Last Episode-All It got stuck on the part where it's suppose to go and access the a button for "all" (to print all the documents) I changed JUST THE Access MH OLD INQUIRIES to another menu option. AND that menu option didn't even have an M and it worked. It printed just fine. This pull down menu has just been added to our list of pull down menus. It looks exactly the same as the others. I can't see anything different. Here is the one that is giving me all the trouble looks like: see attached file. OK you aren't going to believe this but I just tested it using a small d and it went to the Medical History and printed. So could they have messed it up when they programmed it? and instead of going to the M (which it did it open that assessment as you can see in the pictures) w/the letter d? I'm so confused. pictures_of_annoying_macro.doc
  19. It works... and I JUST finished writing the macro LOL. Oh well it was my first experience using a the Internet Explorer option
  20. well, for me it's still not working... i have to log in everytime, but I've got a great idea I'll just write a macro to log me in LOL
  21. first: I wasn't logged in even though I hadn't closed this webpage, so I guess we time out ? So I'm having to retype my last reply. Ok enough frustration to last me a life time! . Ok, here goes 2nd time Are you sure that "Access MH OLD INQUIRIES" is finishing? Are you sure that the "M" is being typed? Are you sure that "To print from Last Episode-All" runs the last time? Joe to answer all your questions YES. there is a macro inside the "To print from Last Episode-All" I've tested each macro seperatly (do we have spell check on this thing?) and they all work. I even copied the one that works: // 1-DISCHARGE SUMMARY 4.8 Macro Run: Access MH OLD INQUIRIES Text Type: D Macro Run: To print from Last Episode-All Duplicated it, made sure it ran (the duplicated one) and just changed the D to a M and it stopped in the same place as the one with the M. There is only one M in the drop down list. However, on another fly out menu I have this exact same document (it's not the only M) but it works just fine. I need to go work out maybe I'll think clearer then! Renee (p.s. how do you post pictures and signature?... I know I could look around!)
  22. also, let me note that the print macro runs fine by it's self.
  23. Ok, this is making me NUTS!!!! I have a macro with 267 lines. Here is the basic Macro: Macro Run: Access A-M Macro Run: To print from Last Episode-All // 1-BPRS Macro Run: Access A-M Text Type: B Macro Run: To print from Last Episode-All // 2-BPRS CHILD Macro Run: Access A-M Text Type: B Text Type: <ARROW DOWN> Macro Run: To print from Last Episode-All It works just groovy until it gets here: // 2-MEDICAL HX/ROS REVIEW (OLD) Macro Run: Access MH OLD INQUIRIES Text Type: M Macro Run: To print from Last Episode-All This is line 179. (note: I changed the type to arrows down from the "M" hoping that would help) I put in the wait for Window Title too, this still makes no difference, it just gets hung up on the print from Last Episode, even though the one right before it worked perfectly!) But when it gets here it just stops It will run part of my print macro but not all of it. Let me also say that of this particular macro I only have 52 lines that I'm actually running. And they are basically all the same as at the beginning of this e-mail so the first 5 run just fine. Do I have too many lines? HELP!
