  1. I withdraw the post - as I have been able to fix the problem, by 'providing' the system tray icon.
  2. I run a number of successful batch files to enable a macro's activation by mouse click : <<Start "" "C:\Program Files\Macro Express Pro\MacExp.exe" /AMACRO Cls>> I've now built a macro that works well except when activated by a batch file as above. I get an error
  3. I've discovered the useful error message at the bottom of the script page; and been able to make progress by BROWSING for the parameters of a program launch, rather than typing them in.
  4. I've tried KILLTASK and a command line - neither succeed in killing Avast. Command line denies me access. But 'stopping Avast till next reboot' from the context menu of the Avast icon in the systray IS viable.
  5. I have looked at Snip & Sketch and found it less appropriate for my use than Snippingtool. There may be other instances where it is better. In the meantime, i would REALY like to be able to run Snippingtool in a macro.
  6. I have just independently realised that left-click was wrong - it should be RIGHT click; but still no display of Avast's Context menu. The exe in the macro command is not the correct one. I will see if Avast Forum can tell me what to use.
  7. I'm asked to enter a variable out of the four on offer. By trial and error I found that 'ENVIRONMENT variables' has the option of Program Files where Avast is located. I'm able to edit that into C:\Program Files\Avast Software\Avast\ - then there are many EXEs to choose from. I do not want to LAUNCH Avast, but want to access the context menu of the systray icon - which EXE to choose ? Clicking AvastUI.exe opens the Avast Free Antivirus which MIGHT lead to the choice I want, but MOVE MOUSE TO TRAY ICON Icon="C:\\Program Files\\Avast Software\\Avast\\AvastUI.exe MOUSE LEFT CLICK does not open that window. When I click on BROWSE, I get what I think are Notification options, rather than a list of the icons in the systray.
  8. Acantor - 'ALT n' - of course ! I must have had a senior's moment ( I'm nearly 78) ! Sad to say, your code did not turn the mouse cursor into a selection tool, as I expect from clicking on New. For what it is worth - I was NOT notified of your reply; luckily I had recorded the URL of this page, and so got to see your post.
  9. I would normally select that option from the context menu of Avast's systray icon, but I do not know how to focus there in an Express macro.
  10. I'm able to launch Win10's snipping tool by a macro, but how to select the NEW tool ?
