yeah i know it is very late in replying back. i got it worked out. i searched for a letter (unique one) and searched using repeat . it worked. thanks a lot

Hey all, EUREKA! i found it. we need to convert the blank cell in excel to ASCII and pass that to a variable (n) and then compare it. i got it solved. thanks a lot!

Hi all, i want to create a mutlitple field form where the user inputs data into those fields which will be captured into variables and used later. Right now i am asking each question with one field like e.g: name one popup comes to ask country another pop up instead i want to ask all questions like name, state, country in one form. How do i do that. i have searched thirdparty where i found that but was unable to use even when i embedded that into the macro which i am using. Can anyone help me out!

Hi stan, i tried the one u suggested. The problem is that the naming on the (there is only one window) window changes for every option i choose. so "if widow title is running" option is not working (for whatever reasons) hence i divided my program and for every window i have a condition set (loop kind of) i defined multiple macros. now each of this macro gets activated once the title window with tht opiton is selected. i have given activation from window title for each of the respective macros. It is working fine. but need to pilot test it (today i will be doing) to see if any errors occur.

Thanks kevin. you are the master. i have been using this macro only for a few month maybe 6months. i have been using it extensively for my dept. but i have no help other than you people on the forum. i also ordered the book which takes me atleast 1month to reach me since i stay in india. so the only source of help is this forum. i miight not have realized abt the newsletter or that the topic has been discussed earlier. so many thanks for ur reply and i will check them and see if i am able to use them and get my problem resolved. thanks a lot! Also let me know if i have older version like 3.2 then what needs to be done to upgrade this one(which is licesnced).

h steve, that is a quite a effort. Thanks. Let me try and see and how it works. But if it is going to take time i doubt!!!!! still we use p4 machines with 1gb ram so it should not be a problem . let me check and get back to you. Also i think if we could increment the variable (t1, t2... automatically) when the loop repeats then many problesm would be resolved. If anyone else has a solution pls help us out!

hi steve, thanks for the reply but the solution you gave is the programme i wrote and the problem i asked sitll remains. how do we increment the variables in the loop without giving so many times. i would like it be something like this: Set N1 = 1 Loop until N1 = 20 Set T1 from Something (here when the loop repeats the variable has to increment on its own) Move to Next Field Increment N1 = n1+1 Repeat Loop so that when it finishes copying it will go to excel and paste the data at once. This will save time and uncesary swithching betweeen applcations. so how do i increment variables.

hi i have written a loop where it has to check for a particular window is opened or not and then continue with theloop else check for another window and then continue with that loop. it goes some thing lik this if window title " process chargeback" is running execute the loop else if window title " retrieval request" is running execute the loop ..... . . . endif endif....... This logic is not at all working and it never enter the loop (i think because it is not recognizing the window title) Also each window opens when the user selects a combo box and only one window opens at a time. Can someone help me out on this as i have a deadline by monday. i have completed the whole project and it is stuck here.

i am trying to copy certain data from an application and paste the data into excel. This is what my people where i work do everminute. i automated all the stuff but when it comes to this part where it copies the data from each cell in the application like a complete row and then goes to excel and pastes in a specified row. presently it comes back to the application and does the work over and over again. it will do this until it finds a null in the application where it is copying from. What i want is instead of going to excel afer copying each row if it can copy multiple rows and store in variables (limit 99 vraiables agreed) it would make the macro work fast. this copying part is put in a loop and i want the variable to be incremented automatically when the loop continues. this is what i need.

hi all, i am copying data into 4 variables (t1, t2, t3, t4) and the loop continues for around 40 times. now what i want is that every time the loop continues it will copy certain data and store. the data to be copied is 4 fields. First time when it copies it will store as i said above. when it enters the loop next time it has to store in other variables like t5, t6, ..... . how do i increment the variables continously ina loop? pls help me out. Also i would like to know how do i make a control recognize the name of a form or something like that using controls. the window control is recognizing the window but not the forms or similar internal window which opens in the main window. help me out!

Hi All, My macro works presently like copying some data from one application and comming to excel and pasting the data and then going back to the application. example: there are 10 users whose data is in the application. Each user can have 1 page or more pages in the application. Each screen in the application displays 10 records and if there are more it gives an option "more" at the end of the screen which i made the macro recognize and it moves to the next screen. Presently my application copies all the data from the screen under user 1 and pastes and then comes back to the application and if it finds more it will go to the next page and copy and paste the data again. it will do this until it finds no " more" then it goes to the next user with number 2. My problem is this takes lot of time. i want it to copy all the data in all the pages and then paste it at one go. we can do this using variables but how to tell the macro to increment variables (as no of pages is not constant) and also even if it copies let us say 10 varaibles how does it paste all the data with x varaibles in the excel sheet.? HOpe i can have some ideas! If it is not clear pls let me know so tht i can try to explain again.

we use it for coporate use. I find it funny but even when i tried the apply option it did not work. the next moment when i go and check it it is not saved. Can u also advise me how to raise the iss incident
