  1. The way i have always did it with MacroExpress (a while ago) and having to migrate from Perkect KB, I want a shortkey to trigger a macro only if it's followed by a ';' character. I do not want it to trigger followed by a space OR 'enter'. I have a shortkey of 'sid'. If i type 'sid;' it expands to 'system identifier', but if i type 'the word sid means ...' i do not want it to expand in the middle of a sentance or at the end of paragraph followed by the 'enter' to start a new one. In otherwords, I disabled use of space bar as a suffix but did not find a way to to disable 'enter'. Hope this clarifies my question. Thank you.
  2. Hi all, By default, MPro uses space bar and 'enter' key to tigger a maco using shortkeys. I was able to disable the space bar by simply adding a space in the 'invalid characters' box under activations --> shortkeys. How can I disable the use of 'enter' key from doing the same? Any hep will be appreciated. Thank you.
  3. thank you. I just sent it as requested.
  4. Hi all, This is something I have suggested before and would like to talk about it again. When I see how advanced ME has become with all these new features, I ask myself why is it that it can not handle RTF text? Why is this is feature looked at as 'impossible' and can not be done? What I want to do is simply write macros that play back RTF text instead of plain text only. I use it for e-mail signatures, rtf templates for tasks, GTD items and so forth. I can not believe the current state of technology does not allow for this feature to be designed. Others have done it by 'clipboard macros' where rtf text can be saved and retrieved via shortcut keys. Can someone please look seriously into this features. ME developers or ME guru users can either add it as a native feature or may be extend it via a custom macro or make it part of the PGM package. I do not mind at all paying for it. Any serious thoughts are welcomed. Thank you.
  5. Paul, Thank you. This works splendidly. I did not populate the registry calls with the path in my code. In this example, how do you know where to save and read the values from the registry.
  6. Hi gurus ... can someone bless me with their knowledge ... - I have trial version of these functions. I still testing them out before I purchase. - I installed PGM macro into my existing ME file. - I wrote this test macro using the above function (see attached image). - when I ran it for the first time, I got this box about installing variables. It iterated through and finished successfully. - the 'read registry string saves to T2. When I execute the macro in notepad, I do not get T2 with the proper casing. Actually, I get nothing ... t1--> my name is ali t2--> what am i missing?
  7. I had same issue. I have ton of RTF templates I use daily and I wanted to automate process of inserting them. As much as I love MacroExpress, but for some reason the developers are keeping deaf ears on this request and they are feeling too comfortable not doing any thing about it. Why on earth do they tell their customers to go and find another tool to do this, is incomprehensible for me. Any way... Well someone beat them to it and did it. It is called Perfect Keyboard and they allow you to create 'clipboard macro' that does just this. It is beautiful and works great. The apt has some issue which I was told are being resolved in a new version coming up. - you can also use ClipCache and save it as a favorite. Works good too. - FlashPaste and FastPaste also do this just fine. If this tool works as good, I will unfortunately let go of ME and I do not feel good about it. My word of advice for ME developers, do not take your customers for granted and feel too comfortable. If they ask for a feature and it can be done within the scope of the app, just do it. Do not resort to easy answers like 'go get another app' or 'it is currently not supported' and leave at that.
  8. Hi all, I have a need to run a macro before a window is closed that does few safety checks. This macro needs to run regardless of how the user opted to close the windows (mouse, alt+F4, etc). Can this be done? If not, any tricks that can be used to accomplish it?
  9. I want to create macro to insert rich text templates into any applications that accepts it e.g. Wordpad, word, and some others. I tried the process file method but it did not work since it pasted the text along with the formatting commands that accompany it. I also tried to open the file, send ctrl A, cntrl+C, close the window, activate current windows, then paste. This produced inconsistent behavior. I thought there is a way to do this without having to deal with windows i.e. open, activate, close. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
  10. I have grown old enough to be able to remember all the shortkeys I created for the macros. Is there a way to facilitate the retrieval of these shortkeys. Here's some ideas. Please provide your comments in terms if they can be done now by ME or be considered as a future feature. - I used ME to export macro info. I then created a macro to prompt the user for a string, it then parses the file and showes the results in box for all matches. This worked fine, but it is a hassle to manually export the macro info and clean the file. I'm tired of it. - Is there a way to do the above without having to export the info file. To for this matter, is there any other way to do this. It has to be keyboard based. Thank you
