OT: Couple of forum queries

Recommended Posts

1) Messages recently started appearing in a 'tree' format here. IOW, below the initial post the rest of the thread was condensed. I've looked around at the settings but could someone remind me how to revert to the normal presentation format please, where all posts in a thread can be read?

2) Below the post and tree summary there's a Search box, with a button labelled 'Search Topic'. I tried a couple of words that appear in the post (longer than 3 characters!) but got no hits.

Click on the options button to the upper right of this post. Yours will be set to "Outline" if you see the tree. Change it to Standard.

Personally I like the Outline mode better. Message threads can split and it annoys me when people just tack on to the end of the last message when they should hit the reply button of the exact message they wish to reply to.

Search:

It works for me. I searched your post for "Grinstead" and your message appeared with Grinstead highlighted.

How cool is it to live in a city with the word "grin" in it?

Odd, it's working for me now too.

Well, I suppose something to smile about amidst the gloom & doom! :D But with a population of about 26,000 it's a long way short of a city ;)
